It doesn't feel wrong when this
player was selected as Indonesian League (LI) VI Player of the Year
last season. Just look at his records. From 31 appearances with PSM
Makassar, he not once ever got a yellow card, and even more special,
he always played full for 90 minutes in each match. He was able to control
his emotions well and never played it harsh with opponent players, and
that should be an example for any football player.
Aside from his sportsmanship, this
player who is commonly called Bima is known for his stamina and his
vision on the pitch. No wonder he is one of the most vital players in
PSM's quest last season. He attacks brilliantly, especially with his
strong shootings, and defends just as well.
They key to success for this player
is his willingness to learn from past experience, even if it was a bad
one. One of them is when he got red-carded while playing for the national
team at SEA Games XIX in a match against Malaysia. That's his first
ever red card. The next one after that, and hopefully the last one,
was when he was playing for Pelita Jaya two years ago against PSMS Medan.
Another admirable quality from this
player is his never-give-up attitude. At one time, his place in the
national team squad was taken over by another player, Haryanto Prasetyo.
But soon he was called up again after a brilliant performance in the
league.
Just like his teammate Kurniawan
Dwi Yulianto, Bima also used to play in Europe. From 1993 to 1995, he
played for Helsingborg, a first division club in Sweden. He was also
in the Primavera team that trained and competed in Italy for about 2
years, and was named captain all the time.
