Danurwindo resigned from Pelita Solo

Danurwindo, a former national team head coach and has been Pelita Solo's manager in the last few seasons, has decided to resign from the club. This resignation, according to him, is part of taking his responsibility after Pelita's poor showing so far in Indonesian League VII.

This resignation was effective after Pelita's 1-2 loss at the hands of Petrokimia Gresik on March 22. And this report has been confirmed by Andreas Djoko Waskita, the club's press secretary.

Andreas explained that Danur has personally requested the resignation to the team's manager Dany Danardoyo while he was still in Gresik. He has also told about his decision to Nugraha Besoes, the director of Pelita Bakrie Sports Clubs, Pelita Solo's mother organization.

Andreas continued on saying that Pelita Bakrie has generally agreed with the resignation. Even though there has been no pressure from the management on Danurwindo, they will let Danur go on with his decision. Forcing him to stay on the job will only make matters worse.

As his replacement, Danur's assistant Rully Nerre has been appointed as caretaker coach for the rest of the season. Rully has been with the team for a long time, and though he may lack leadership, he more than makes it up with his technical skills.

Furthermore, even though Danur is no longer the head coach of Pelita Solo's senior team, he will stay as the club's chairman and one of the coaches for Pelita's junior team.
