Independence
Cup 2000 in Jakarta
Independence Cup is annual tournament held in Indonesia every August
to commemorate Indonesia's Indepence Day. It is the biggest football
tournament in the country and has a long history. Unfortunately, it's
been vacant since 1994, and not until this year the FAI (Football Association
of Indonesia) decided to re-instate the prestigious tournament.
This year's tournament is held in Jakarta, for about two weeks, from
the last week of August through the first week of September.
Three foreign countries participated in the tournament, and they are:
Iraq, Myanmar, and Hong Kong.
The top two teams in the standing will proceed to the Final of the
tournament.
